Something Not Steroids Related...Maybe

Far as I know, this story has nothing to do with steroids, but is at least mildly interesting and seemingly empty of steroid connections.

Jennifer Figge, a 56 year old woman from Colorado, just became the first person to ever swim across the Atlantic Ocean.  Yes, that Atlantic Ocean.

I came across this story and was absolutely blown away.  Apparently, this is something she'd wanted to do since she was a little kid.  The near 2100 mile journey from South Africa to Trinidad took Figge 24 days to complete.  She was followed by a support boat, which supplied her with energy drinks and food and a place to rest.  Figge reportedly burned approximately 8000 calories a day.  Considering the Angus Beef Third Pounder with Bacon/Cheese I had from Mickey D's last night was nearly 1200 calories in one meal, that's pretty damn impressive.

So, if you needed a brief respite from steroid scandal, here it was and enjoy it while it lasted.  Expect nothing other than steroid coverage here and on every other site on the Internet from now until Opening Day.  Sorry.
