It seems like perfect timing for Eastbound & Down, a new HBO series premiering on Sunday at 10:30.
Danny McBride plays the main character, Kenny Powers, an ex-Major Leaguer that seems to embody everything wrong with modern athletes. He's arrogant, he's self-absorbed, he's delusional, and he wasted away his career.
After putting on too much weight, presumably doing steroids (check the clip), and making some racist remarks, Powers heads home, where he encounters his former love, and embarks upon a new career as a substitute teacher. Will Ferrell is involved in the acting and production of the show, so that's always good.
